"Butter Me Up" is one of the Happy Tree Friends Break shorts. This is one of the shorts that recycle animation from Happy Tree Friends & Friends, specifically from the "we're back" bumpers. In this version, said series' logo is edited out to be replaced with the Break logo but with the "break" part crossed out and "is dead!" is scribbled under it, causing it to read "Happy Tree Friends is dead!" This is the last Break short of this type.

Plot[edit]

Giggles has received her tub of popcorn and goes to apply some butter. However, no butter comes out as she pushes down the pump. She pushes harder, and this results in a large spray of hot butter splashed over her head. One of her eyes and some of her skin end up melting. Her tub of popcorn falls to the floor, showing the "Happy Tree Friends is dead!" logo. Lumpy's hand appears and erases the "is dead!" scribble with a pencil's eraser side, restoring the Happy Tree Friends Break logo.

Trivia[edit]

  • In addition to the different screen format and modified logo, Lumpy's inclusion is exclusive to this Break compared to the original Happy Tree Friends & Friends clip.
    • Not to mention, the Happy Tree Friends & Friends version of the clip places the initial scene showing Giggles picking up her tub of popcorn in a wider shot, then a closer shot when she is about to apply the butter. The Break version plays both beginning scenes in one continuous shot, as the scene already starts with a closer view.
    • The audio in the Break version is pitched down compared to the Happy Tree Friends & Friends version of the clip.
