"Kringle Karol" (formerly "Kringle Karoling" on the official Happy Tree Friends website and in the Happy Tree Friends: Second Serving DVD) is a Kringle featuring Toothy, Cuddles, Giggles, and Lumpy. The short is set to "Greensleeves" for the beginning and ending parts of the short. When the characters sing, the song is "Silent Night".

On the (now-defunct) holiday minisite hosted on the official Happy Tree Friends website, this Kringle is represented by a silhouette of a candle.

Synopsis[edit]

Happy Tree Friends website: The Happy Tree Friends spread joy this holiday season[2]

Plot[edit]

Toothy, Cuddles, Giggles, and Lumpy are walking up to a house on a hill. After the door opens, the characters start singing in an off-key fashion. The door is then slammed shut. A splat sound and Giggles' scream are heard afterwards. Once the door is opened the second time, it reveals Toothy futilely trying to revive Cuddles whose face is impaled by a large icicle, Giggles on fire, and Lumpy running away in fear.

Fates[edit]

Deaths[edit]

  • Cuddles' face is impaled by a large icicle.
  • Giggles is presumably burned to death. (debatable)

Injuries[edit]

  • Giggles is set on fire.

Survival rate[edit]

  • Amount of surviving main characters: 3 (2 counting debatable deaths)
  • Amount of dead main characters: 1 (2 counting debatable deaths)
  • Total rate: 75% (50% counting debatable deaths)

Animation errors[edit]

  • Toothy is not depicted with his large gapped buckteeth in the entire short.
  • Toothy's hand graphics are not animated properly when he was trying to revive Cuddles, causing his hands to change directions in a continuous shot.

References in later episodes[edit]

  • The premise of Toothy, Cuddles, Giggles, and Lumpy going caroling would be reused in the Happy Tree Friends Break shorts "Deck the Halls" and "We Wish You", as well as the YouTube-exclusive short "Oh Xmas Tree". Unlike Kringle Karol, the intro forgoes the opening scene with the characters walking up a hill and instead shows the house scene, the door has a Christmas wreath with the Happy Tree Friends logo in the middle and the house's interior is much brighter and properly decorated with lights on the doorframe and a Christmas tree placed on the right side. Also, the characters sing more on-key and there are no deaths in those shorts, instead ending with the message "Happy Holidays! from Happy Tree Friends" after the door closes.

Trivia[edit]

  • Even though "Kringle Karol" used to be available on the official Happy Tree Friends website in rotation during holidays, it is the only Kringle to be not re-released officially on both Mondo Media's website and YouTube as an individual video, though it can be technically watched on YouTube officially via Happy Tree Friends - Winter Break or the first part of the Happy Tree Friends - Kringles compilation.
