'''Cuddles''' is one of the main characters, and the mascot of the internet and television franchise, ''[[Happy Tree Friends]]''. He is the first character to be created prior to the show's proper debut. Rhode hung the drawing up in his workstation, with the intent of allowing his idea to be seen by others. His idea was eventually pitched to the Mondo Media executives, who later accepted the concept.

An early sketch depicts the rabbit and a beaver playing with a bomb. The rabbit was subsequently featured in later sketches with a slight redesign. A particular design of the rabbit was featured in a sketch alongside a beaver, squirrel, and bear character; this would serve as the basis of the unreleased short, [[Banjo Frenzy|''Banjo Frenzy'']]. Cuddles is a rebellious troublemaker who enjoys causing mischief and is often self-centered. Both of these traits have frequently led to his death, though Flaky often attempts to warn Cuddles, but usually to no avail. Despite this, however, Cuddles is usually seen being friendly and cheerful, though he can be gullible at times. In the episode, ''[[In a Jam]]'', he is shown to like rock music. As revealed in the [[Happy Tree Friends: Break|Break]], ''[[Seize the Day]]'', Cuddles suffers from epilepsy. It was mentioned that he is actually allergic to carrots since they make him choke<ref name=":0" />. Natural to his species, Cuddles has very long ears that often move to reflect his expression, as they usually drop down whenever Cuddles is upset. He normally wears pink bunny slippers and nothing else. Cuddles is rarely seen without his slippers, but the coloration of his soles have been a subject of inconsistency. However, some episodes depict the two as nothing more as friends. In [[Snow Place to Go|''Snow Place to Go'']], he along with Lumpy, Russell, and Toothy volunteer Flaky to retrieve the can from Giggles’ dead body. While Cuddles and Petunia are often in the same episode, they never interacted on-screen. In [[Flippin' Burgers|''Flippin' Burgers'']], Petunia serves Cuddles his food at a resturant. In [[In a Jam|''In a Jam'']], The Mole injuries Cuddles in an attempt to sample his blood and he accidentally kills Cuddles at the end of the episode. Cuddles attends Splendid's convention center in [[Wrath of Con|''Wrath of Con'']]. When Splendid cuts him in half with his laser vision by mistake in [[Just Be Claus|''Just Be Claus'']], Cuddles asks Splendid to deliver the eggs for [[Wikipedia:Easter|Easter]]. Splendid responds by taking not only the eggs, but also ripping off Cuddles' ears and wear them.

Nutty and Cuddles appear to be rivals. In [[Sweet Ride|''Sweet Ride'']]'','' Cuddles was chased by Nutty for his ice cream cone. Nutty also hijacks the latter's car in [[Happy Tree Friends: False Alarm|''Happy Tree Friends: False Alarm'']]. In [[Camp Pokeneyeout|''Camp Pokeneyeout'']], Cuddles accidentally pelts a rock at Nutty's marshmellow, causing it to be knocked into his eye and melt it. They seem to be on decent terms in ''[[In a Jam|''In a Jam]]'', where Cuddles politely asked Nutty where he got his money.

Even though Lifty, Shifty, and Cuddles rarely interact, they are rarely at odds. In [[Junk in the Trunk|''Junk in the Trunk'']], Cuddles helps Lifty and Shifty with their scheme without hesitation, until they steal his pet mouse and get him killed. They were supposed to eat at a [[Wikipedia:Christmas|Christmas]] dinner in [[Kringle Feast|''Kringle Feast'']]. In ''[[Claw]]'', Lifty and Shifty attempted to save Cuddles from the claw.

In Cuddles' only interaction with Disco Bear, he was furious after watching a video of Disco Bear dating a cardboard cutout of Giggles in ''[[YouTube 101: Subscriptions]]''. They worked at the same fire department in ''[[Who's To Flame]]''.

FLiQPy has killed Cuddles several times. In [[This Is Your Knife|''This Is Your Knife'']], Cuddles sheepishly waves at Flippy's evil side just before he was killed. In [[Party Animal|''Party Animal'']], he was horrified when Flippy's evil side killed Toothy.

Cuddles speaks in a high-pitched voice. Like most characters, Cuddles' dialogue is often jumbled and mostly consists of gibberish. However, occasionally, Cuddles would speak clear English.
