Hot Potato is a Happy Tree Friends Flash game published on the Mondo website. This game involves the player juggling a grenade for as long as possible with letting it hit the floor.

Description

It’s a pot-luck party and everyone’s decided to bring something to share! Flippy has shown up with the baked potatoes… only he’s made his own bombastic substitutions to the recipe.[3]

Gameplay

Hot Potato gameplay.

Hot Potato is played with a mouse. A grenade is dropped on the play area. Clicking on it once will make it bounce, after which the player has to keep it juggled without letting it hit the floor. A successful click on the grenade is worth 1 point.

The objective of the game is to score as much as possible before the grenade hits the floor and kills all the guests.

Trivia

Dynamit (or Dynamite for the mobile version), a Happy Tree Friends Flash game produced by Christian Gull that serves as the basis for Hot Potato.
  • Hot Potato is one of the Happy Tree Friends Arcade games remade from Christian Gull's Flash games. In this case, this game was remade from Dynamit, which shares the same gameplay mechanics.
  • Compared to Dynamit, aside from the more stable game engine and different background and UI:
    • Hot Potato has the player juggle a grenade instead of a dynamite.
    • Hot Potato takes place in a house party instead of an empty interior.
    • Nutty is properly drawn with his mismatched eyes in Hot Potato instead of sharing the same Pac-Man-shaped pupils. His tail and lollipop are also properly drawn in Hot Potato.
    • Cub is absent in Hot Potato.
    • All characters' eyes are not shaded on the edges in Hot Potato.
    • Hot Potato has background music.
    • The grenade takes longer to touch the ground after it is clicked compared to the dynamite.
  • Flippy's name is only mentioned in the game's instructions. He does not appear physically in-game.
