Biography

General information

Personality

Lumpy is a bumbling moose who's been frequently portrayed as dimwitted, clumsy, and extremely unintelligent. However, he is well-meaning, as he would rather help his fellow peers and take any opportunity to rescue his friends when they are endangered. Lumpy is constantly depicted as a caretaker for several characters, and sometimes non-anthropomorphic animals or objects, such as cows, his pet elephant, or an ear of giant corn.

However, despite his kind nature, he has been under the portrayal as an antagonistic character at times. In Dunce Upon a Time, he is depicted as a giant, where he kills several of his hostages after they have fled from their respective cages. In Happy Trails Pt. 2: Jumping the Shark, he participated in murdering Flaky or at least supported it in some sort of way. An infamous example Lumpy's antagonistic side has occurred throughout We're Scrooged!, where he is portrayed as a greedy business owner. His villainous acts includes stealing coins from The Mole's charity bucket and intentionally killing Toothy to make a profit from his dismembered body parts. In Every Litter Bit Hurts, he is seen repeatedly committing harmful acts toward the environment. In Mime To Five, he's portrayed as the tyrannical and greedy owner of a circus. Most notably in this episode, he treats Mime poorly, and his treatment of his Killer Ducks is downright cruel. In The Carpal Tunnel of Love, he interferes with Cuddles' plan to show his affection for Giggles and recklessly becomes a lethal hindrance to most characters in the cafe, such as stealing Handy's truck.

While Lumpy typically showcases his extremely low intelligence, there have been just as many instances where Lumpy has become rather crafty and knowledgeable. For example, in Doggone It, Lumpy was the only character to even considered the temperament of Whistle to be caused by a whistling sound.

Physical information

Lumpy is a tall blue moose with mismatched antlers. His eyes are almost always crossed when he's idle and his teeth are often seen sticking from beneath his nose when wearing his standard expression. He is notably slimmer and taller than the rest of the Tree Friends. In general, Lumpy has a very unique design compared to most characters. He lacks a heart-shaped nose and has two visible nostrils in the place of it. He also lacks mitten-hands, as his hands are always seen possessing four-fingered digits. He also has fully circular pupils as opposed to baring a prominent wedge that resembles a Pac-Man shape.

While Lumpy seems to be completely unclothed, he has worn various outfits in several episodes, such as jackets, aprons, pants, shirts, and overalls. However, according to Baking Me Crazy, it's implied that Lumpy wears an invisible T-shirt that blends in with his blue fur. When he takes it off, he can be seen with a tan line, nipples, buttocks, and unseen genitals.

Speech

Lumpy speaks with a very low-pitched voice. He has spoken clear English the most times out of all the characters. He sometimes cusses "What the fuck?" or "What the hell?" whenever he sees something strange or disturbing. He was able to tell Sniffles about Toothy breaking his arm in Blast from the Past in clear English.
