"On My Mind" is a Love Bite focusing on Giggles and Flippy. This is the fourth Love Bite released and one of the two released after a 3-year gap since "I Heart U", the previous Love Bite, was first released. This Love Bite precedes "My Better Half".

Synopsis[edit]

Happy Tree Friends website: If we don’t get 100K “likes” Flippy will take us out on a date!!! Nobody comes back from a date with Flippy!!![2]

Plot[edit]

Giggles and Flippy are sitting at a table together and looking at each other lovingly. Flippy gives Giggles a rose, which she happily accepts. Next, he takes out a bottle and opens it, but the sound of its cork popping out triggers his evil side. The flipped out Flippy turns back to Giggles and takes the rose away from her hand, ripping her skin off in the process. As she screams from it, he skewers the rose through the sides of her head and rubs it repeatedly, taking out bits of her brain and pulling one of her eye balls out from the side of her head.

Fates[edit]

Deaths[edit]

  • Flippy skewers Giggles' head with a rose and damages her brain and one of her eye balls by running the rose through her head repeatedly.

Injuries[edit]

  • Before death, Giggles' hand has its skin ripped off from Flippy roughly snatching the rose from her.

Survival rate[edit]

  • Amount of surviving main characters: 1
  • Amount of dead main characters: 1
  • Total rate: 50%

Animation errors[edit]

  • The crest on Flippy's beret is shown on the other side when the headwear is facing the other way.

Development[edit]

"On My Mind" was first teased on January 11, 2012 via the official Happy Tree Friends Facebook post with the following caption, "EXCLUSIVE!! Here's a TOP SECRET picture of a story board for a NEW EPISODE!!! Sadly, the person who took this was shot. Not because he took the picture but because he was a douche bag...so I guess it's really not that sad." In that photo, storyboard pages of the short can be seen, depicting its beginning scenes.

Trivia[edit]

  • "On My Mind" is the only Love Bites short to have no additional scene after the break-up message is shown.
  • "On My Mind" has the break-up message written with proper punctuations unlike the previous Love Bites. "My Better Half", also released in 2012, is the only other one with this distinction.
  • "On My Mind" is the only Love Bites short where Giggles dies instead of just left injured.
  • "On My Mind" was supposedly lost from the official Mondo website when it went through a revamp in late 2014. It took until February 14, 2020 for it to be re-released. Since then, a shot from this short is used as part of the website's home page marquee to promote the Happy Tree Friends show's Valentine's Day Playlist.
